Copyright notice

All artwork, images, titles, descriptions, photographs and site content are © Aaron Stan. All rights reserved. Copyright in every original scratchboard piece, and in all photographs and reproductions of it, is retained by the artist at all times and is protected under the Canadian Copyright Act and international treaties including the Berne Convention.

What a purchase includes

• You acquire ownership of the physical print, canvas or board only.
• Copyright, reproduction rights and all moral rights remain with the artist and are not transferred, assigned or licensed by a sale.
• The artist reserves the right to reproduce, exhibit, photograph and publish the work — including works held in private collections — for portfolio, print, promotional and archival purposes.

Permitted use

You may display your purchased piece in your home, office or private space, resell or gift the physical item you own, and share personal photographs of it in your own space on social media with credit to Aaron Stan (@a2arts).

Prohibited use

• Copying, scanning, photographing or digitally reproducing the artwork for sale or distribution.
• Producing prints, canvases, merchandise, apparel, NFTs or derivative works from any image.
• Commercial, advertising, editorial or brand use of the artwork or site images without a licence.
• Using the artwork or its images to train, fine-tune or generate outputs from machine-learning or generative AI systems.
• Removing, altering or obscuring the artist's signature, watermark or credit.

Licensing and commissions

Commercial licensing — publishing, advertising, film, apparel, packaging or editorial use — is available by written agreement only. Licences are granted in writing, are limited in scope, term and territory, and are never implied by a purchase. Email studio@aaronstanart.com with the intended use, audience and duration for a quote.

Attribution

Where the work is reproduced under licence or shared editorially, it must be credited as: Aaron Stan, title of work, scratchboard (ink on clay board), © Aaron Stan.

Infringement

Unauthorised reproduction is copyright infringement. We monitor for infringing use and will pursue takedown notices, removal of listings and legal remedies, including damages and costs, where necessary. To report suspected infringement or request permission, email studio@aaronstanart.com.
